Programs and Services

We provide parents with a wide variety of programs, services, and support.

KARA provides educational programming, groups, and events designed to create positive outcomes for children and their families throughout the Edmonton area.

Due to COVID-19 closures, we will be offering virtual programming online.  Follow us on Facebook for updates and activities to do at home with your child!  Click on the Registered Programs tab or have a look at our calendar below for programs via Zoom sessions.

KARA was awarded the contract to provide Early Childhood Services as a Spoke of the North Central Edmonton FRN (Family Resource Network).  For more information about the FRN, please check out their website here.

Hassle-Free Shopping with Children

This (Triple P) Positive Parenting Program workshop uses shopping trips as an example of one of the most common times parents have to deal with difficult behavior in public.

Positive parenting strategies are discussed as step-by-step suggestions for preventing problems and teaching children how to behave on shopping trips.

Parents will develop individualized plans to manage problem behavior during their own shopping trips and are encouraged to transfer new parenting strategies to other potentially difficult community situations.

This program is for parents of children 2 to 12 years.
