We provide a variety of free educational programs, and special events designed to create positive outcomes for children and their families throughout the Edmonton area.

MotherGoose & More

Description:  Through music, books, rhymes, puppets, and fingerplays children will build their language and literacy skills and develop and early love for learning!  After the structured portion of the program, stay for free play and socialization.  Geared for ages 0-6 years.  Amy will be waiting for you.

Stay and Play with Baby

Description:  Come explore new toys and activities and enjoy meeting new friends in our play space specifically set up for baby.  For ages 0-18 months.  Amy will be waiting for you in the Baby “BEAR” Room!

Baby Move N'Groove

Description: Your little one will have fun and build their creativity while enhancing  their motor skills through music, movement, play, and dance.  Connect and socialize with other parents, caregivers, and children.  For ages 0 – 18 months.  Dhool will be waiting for you in the Baby “BEAR” Room.

Date:  Tuesdays, July 19 to August 9

Toddler Move N' Groove

Description:  Your little one will have fun and build their creativity all while enhancing their motor skills through music, movement, and dance. Connect and socialize with other parents, caregivers, and children.  For ages 18-36 months.  Amy will be waiting for you.

Toddler Adventure Time

Description:  Your little one has entered a whole new phase of development!  Along  with new play, language, and motor skills, toddlers also actively seek out more independence!  Join us each week as we engage in play activities designed specifically for toddlers and discuss this exciting, and at times challenging, new phase of parenting.  For ages 18-36 months.  Jamie will be waiting for you.

WONDERful Fun

Description:  This program will encourage your child to spark their curiosity about the world around them!  Children will build their confidence and experience success as they engage in self-directed, enquiry-based learning and play.  For ages 3 – 6 years.

Mindful Minis

Description:  Children will learn about emotions and how to regulate themselves through relaxation and mindfulness techniques.  Kids will have fun, make new friends, and learn how good it feels to be calm!  For ages 3 – 6 years.

Story Circle

Description:  Children will have an opportunity to learn about creations, cultures, critters, and climates through the sharing of age-appropriate books and literature.  These concepts will then be carried over into hands on learning activities designed to reinforce their learning in meaningful ways to the children.  For ages 3 – 6 years.  
*Join us for Cultural Connections being offered at the same time.

Ready, Set, Go!

Description:  In this program children will have the opportunity to practice saying goodbye to their caregiver, work on their self-help skills, and engage in some FUN early learning activities to develop their school readiness skills.  For ages 3 – 6 years.

Triple P at the Park

Description:  Join us for this four-week parenting series in which we help you create a toolbox of strategies to deal with common parenting challenges.  These sessions are held outside (will move indoors if weather is not cooperative) in a casual environment and will provide opportunities for group sharing and discussion.  Register for individual sessions that meet your schedule/needs or for all!
*Stay and play at the park with your child following the program… a free packed lunch will be provided.

Lunch & Learn

Description:  Connect with others while learning positive parenting strategies to deal with common parenting concerns such as:

  • –  raising resilient children,
  • –  dealing with challenging behaviors,
  • –  developing successful routines, and more.  

Gain confidence, parenting skills, and build new friendships! A light lunch will be served for you & your child.

H42..Let Us Pamper You

Description:  This program is specifically designed for our Health for Two clients.  Preparing for motherhood is a special time, but it also comes with physical and mental challenges.  Join us each week for this program where we will provide you with both support and some special pampering!  Take a break to focus on you!

Note: Must be pregnant to attend and currently part of or wanting to join H42 program.

Cultural Connections

Description:  Our unique backgrounds and experiences shape our parenting.  Come meet other parents and caregivers and learn about our similarities, our  differences, and new strategies to consider as we navigate the parenting journey together.  The last session of the program is a Cultural Celebration!!

*Story Circle is running at the same time for your preschool children!

Description:  Parenting is a journey of ups and downs and sometimes we need a little extra support to navigate it all.  No matter what you are facing we are here to listen and support you in reaching your individual and family goals.

Description:  Join us each week for a fun afternoon of crafts and activities and enjoy a nice cool treat!

Nature Nuts

Description:  Welcome to the great outdoors! In this program, nature becomes the playspace.  Children will enjoy crafts, games, and play activities while exploring the great outdoors.  Dress for the weather…rain or shine!  We will be outside!

Geared towards 0-6 years but any age welcome

Kidz Clubhouse with KARA

Description:  Our doors are open all summer for crafts, activities, and games.  Come by with the children and enjoy some fun together to beat the boredom blues.  This program is for parents with their children.

KARA Roaming Playtroupe

Description:  We are heading out into the Community where the action is! Each week we will be at a different community playpark with fun and activities!

Health For Two

Description: This program is for women who need support to have a healthy pregnancy. It also provides support throughout the pregnancy and up to 2 months of postnatal care to women who require extra support to have a healthy pregnancy.
This service includes:

  • Information on pregnancy, birth, baby care, and parenting (including pregnancy and parenting options).
  • Support and referrals to community support such as maternity care, mental health, addictions, housing, food security, etc.
  • Nutritional supplements (such as milk coupons and prenatal vitamins).

Ages & Stages Questionnaires (ASQ)

Developmental Questionnaire:

Description: An ASQ is a parent completed questionnaire that screens 5 key categories – communication, problem solving, fine motor, gross motor, and social. As follow up, staff provide tips and activities to try at home or refer participants to services and programs that will be helpful.

Social Emotional Questionnaire:

Description: The Social Emotional ASQ is a parent completed questionnaire that asks simple questions about a child’s behaviour and social interactions. It is another tool to help parents better understand their child.
